How we work

Editorial Policy

The standards guiding every report published by LDBhatt.in.

Accuracy before speed

We verify names, dates, claims, images and quotations before publication. Anonymous sources are used only when the public-interest value outweighs the loss of transparency and their information can be corroborated.

Fairness and independence

People and organizations facing significant criticism are given a meaningful opportunity to respond. Editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, political interests and sponsors.

Corrections

Substantive errors are corrected promptly and transparently. Updates that materially change a story are labeled so readers can understand what changed.

Opinion and analysis

Opinion, analysis, sponsored material and news reporting are labeled distinctly. Headlines must accurately reflect the article and should not exaggerate or remove essential context.

Images, privacy and harm

Images are not deceptively altered. We take particular care when reporting on children, victims, grief, health and private individuals. Graphic material is used only when editorially necessary and accompanied by an appropriate warning.

Conflicts of interest

Contributors disclose financial, personal or professional interests that could affect—or appear to affect—their work. The editor may recuse a contributor or disclose the conflict to readers.
